Surely everyone wants to be a superhero. I’ve always dreamed of being Superman, or Spiderman, or Daredevil, or even just being able to perform some of those great jumps that Keanu Reeves “does” in The Matrix.
Every day we see superheroes in our own lives although they don’t always wear the sparkly costumes. They might work for the emergency services or be caring for our families or friends. I felt like I was in the hands of a superhero today when the pilot wrestled with the aeroplane controls as we bumped through the clouds and landed gracefully on the tarmac!
It would be great if we could take a little bit of “superhero” and build it into our everyday lives. One of the online dictionary definitions of a superhero is “an exceptionally skillful or successful person” and in that case, if a superhero does special things to make others feel special, I think it’s actually in all of us wherever we are and whatever we normally do, particularly if we have the right tools for the job.
I’ve spoken before in blog posts about the power of technology to drive business change, but we can only really do this with the help of superheroes – at your side and at ours. That’s one reason that I love our innovative Amadeus Ticket Changer Superhero campaign – which you can find at www.amadeusefficiency.co.uk. Not only does it showcase how the clever technology that we create can help to drive your business success, but it also allows users to think about themselves as the Batman or Superwoman they always wanted to be.
And Ticket Changer is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m easily travelling tens of thousands of miles a year in my role and I love meeting customers, talking about how they make their businesses super, and looking at how we can do things differently together. If only I actually had my Superman flying cape, I’d be doing double the distance in half the time!
