I am delighted to share with you my first blog post since joining the UK & Ireland team early January 2012. Anyone who knows me knows that I am genuinely interested in establishing a rapport with you, our customer. Personally, I am convinced that understanding our customers’ aspirations and challenges helps Amadeus develop technology that enables success. So – hopefully in the not too distant future – when we get to meet at an industry or Amadeus event, you’ll find that I am a good listener.
As we all appreciate, the building blocks of genuine partnership are trust and transparency, so I do hope you will find time to enjoy my regular blog posts starting with this one – and, where you feel appropriate, share your comments and thoughts about the current business climate and how you feel the Amadeus organisation can help in building your business.
Looking to the future, what can you expect from Amadeus in 2012? You might be interested to learn that, by listening to customer feedback and watching how the market is evolving, we have a full and varied pipeline of product and content releases this year that are designed to increase the productivity and “consultant status” of your travel sellers. We will continue to deepen our content with innovative business ideas covering items that you have told us are important for your business – air, hotel and cruise in particular – ideas for bringing content that, we believe, give us a completely different approach to the more “traditional GDS” model. I plan to elaborate on our plans in these areas in future posts as we get nearer to market rollout.
We believe we have some interesting new technology to offer in all of these areas and I am very excited about the year to come. In parallel, we will be building on the strengths that are recognised by customers today, working in close project partnership to give our customers the competitive edge in a very challenging market place.
So all that is left for me to say is thank you for being an Amadeus customer, thank you for continuing to be an Amadeus customer and I look forward to working with you in 2012 as we make our successful partnership go from strength to strength.
